The 18th China International Battery Fair (CIBF 2026) successfully concluded in Shenzhen in May. Centered on the theme of Linking Global Supply Chains, Empowering Green Development, Powering the Future, the expo spanned a gross exhibition area of over 280,000 square meters and gathered nearly 3,200 leading industrial players worldwide. Over its three-day run, visitor attendance topped 400,000, setting new all-time records for scale among global battery expos. As a renowned domestic manufacturer of weighing and force-measuring sensors, Desente Sensor showcased its full-process force sensor solutions for lithium-ion battery manufacturing, delivering targeted support for the entire lithium battery equipment production chain.
Lithium battery production falls into three core phases: front-end electrode preparation, mid-end cell assembly and back-end formation & packaging. Desente Sensor delivers customized matching sensor solutions tailored to core equipment at every production stage.
Key equipment for this phase includes vacuum mixers, coaters, calendar rollers, slitting machines and die-cutting machines.
Vacuum Mixer: High-precision weighing modules oversee accurate dosing of raw material formulas during cathode and anode slurry blending, while dynamic torque sensors track real-time shifts in mixing viscosity to guarantee homogeneous slurry blending.
Coater: Uniform coating of slurry onto metal foil demands stringent electrode consistency. Cantilever tension sensors enable closed-loop real-time tension control for winding and unwinding, stabilizing coating thickness throughout production.
Calendar Roller, Slitter & Die-Cutter: Calendar rollers compact electrodes under high pressure to boost battery energy density, while slitters and die-cutters perform electrode trimming. Tension and pressure monitoring sensors are installed on these devices to secure consistent electrode compactness and trimming precision and minimize burr formation.
This production stage consists of winding machines, stacking machines, casing assembly lines and electrolyte filling equipment.
Winder & Stacker: These devices precisely wind or stack cathode/anode sheets with separators. Cantilever tension sensors facilitate closed-loop tension adjustment for material winding/unwinding, paired with high-precision weighing modules to measure cell weight and ensure uniform assembly quality.
Casing Assembly Line: Finished cells are inserted into shells and sealed via welding. Spoke-type sensors, miniature compression sensors and S-type pull-pressure sensors monitor insertion pressure to avoid jamming or cell damage and check for missing spring fittings.
Electrolyte Filler: Electrolyte dosage directly dictates battery performance and safety. High-precision parallel beam weighing modules measure weight variance pre- and post-filling at milligram-level accuracy to regulate electrolyte injection volume and eliminate underfilling or overfilling risks.
Core equipment covers formation machines, hot & cold pressing machines, blue film wrapping equipment and grading testing devices.
Hot & Cold Presser: Cells are pressed to target thickness and compactness. Spoke-type and flat force sensors track pressure distribution during pressing and pressure holding, preventing internal stress and capacity degradation induced by uneven compression.
Formation Machine: Charge-discharge cycling activates internal electrode materials. Spoke-type sensors monitor dimensional expansion force during cycling to flag overcharging or overdischarging and safeguard formation safety.
Blue Film Wrapper: Insulating film wraps cell tops and bottoms. Flat and micro-pressure sensors test insulation performance under calibrated compression.
Grading Tester: Equipment sorts batteries by rated capacity. Expansion force sensors capture force fluctuations amid charge and discharge cycles to evaluate battery safety and batch consistency.
Desente’s booth drew heavy foot traffic from industry professionals throughout the exhibition. Backed by its comprehensive full-process sensor portfolio and robust technical competence, the company secured numerous prospective clients and preliminary cooperation intentions with multiple leading lithium battery equipment manufacturers, marking a highly productive exhibition outing.
CIBF 2026 served as both a comprehensive display of Desente Sensor’s technical prowess and a pivotal milestone in advancing its brand toward high-end specialization. A top-tier domestic supplier of weighing and force sensors, Desente will keep investing in R&D of force sensing technology, supplying ultra-precise, dependable products to advance smart lithium battery manufacturing globally and explore new opportunities in the new energy sector alongside industry partners.
